Smurfs, The Movie

It’s been reported that Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation are taking on a combo live action/animated movie project about the Smurfs.

Those little blue devils that graced the small screen during the eighties are making the mighty leap to the big screen.

No word out on when the movie will be out, with the script still in the works, but if Slutty Smurf (or whatever the only female Smurf character in the whole village is!) looks anything as hot as Jessica Rabbit, I might be interested in watching it!

300 Gets 10 Saturn Awards Nominations

The Saturn Awards, now in its 34th year, is like a geekier version of the Academy Awards. Given out by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, the Saturn Awards, although more low-budget and less glamourous than the Oscars, has quite a few ‘big-name’ directors and actors receiving the award. Among them are Ron Mayer, Brian Grazer, Bill Paxton and Sam Raimi.

This year 300 leads the way with nominations in the categories of Best Adventure Thriller Film, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Actress, Best Direction, Writing, Music, Costume, Make-up and Special Effects.

Meet The Spartans Kill Off Rambo IV

Meet the Spartans, the spoof to 300, has knocked off Rambo IV (why is he still fighting in the jungles?) off the top of the US box office charts. If you’re a fan of 300, you’d love this movie. Or hate it. It’s in the same genre of comedy movie as the Scary Movie series - they spoof everything. Funny!

Viggo Mortensen’s Nude Fight Scene (nsfw)

Mr Aragorn, Viggo Mortensen has been nominated for Best Actor in the Oscars for his portrayal of a Russian mobster in the movie Eastern Promises. Only best actors can do a fight scene totally naked. Funny, though. He doesn’t fight at all like Aragorn. :D
