Probably a case of outsourcing gone wrong. An ad created by a third-party vendor, Epoch Films, without the knowledge of Saatchi & Saatchi, JC Penny’s ad agency, was entered in the Cannes Lions Awards, won the bronze award, but was a fake.
The video is actually a spoof of JC Penny’s ad campaign where the retailer used the phrase “Today’s the day to …. “. In the spoof, two teenagers are seen practicing and timing themselves getting dressed (speed dressing) in anticipation of a romp in the girl’s basement, with her mother upstairs watching TV. The video ends with the phrase “Today’s the day to get away with it”.
It’s pretty funny, but JC Penny’s not seeing the lighter side of it and does not want to be seen as condoning teen sex. JC Penny are said to be unhappy with Saatchi & Saatchi over this incident and have instructed them to ‘rectify the problem’, so to speak.
Greenpeace says in this ad, “Recycling: You’re already doing it. We humans are born to recycle. So why not find out more on how to do all the different kinds of recycling?”
I get that we need to recycle to preserve Earth’s fast-depleting natural resources, but the image in the ad!
Directed by Mr Madonna (Hard Candy’s out!! I want one!!), Guy Ritchie, this ad is shot from the viewer’s perspective. Makes you a little dizzy, but it’s brilliant!
I get this feeling most mornings when I have to drag my weary body out of bed to go to work. Who wouldn’t want to trade a couple of extra hours in bed instead of going to work when you have a nice, warm blanket to snuggle up to?
This ad was created for an insulation company Pink Batts in New Zealand.
Ad from a Brazillian ad agency reminding us that the big guy "has a memory of an elephant, but his remembrances are no good. Keep animals away from the circus."
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there are only two places people should see animals - in the wild or at the zoo.
Proof that you don’t have to have an astronomical budget to produce a good commercial. Nike always comes up with great ads. I love these, especially the one with the girl body-slamming her boyfriend.
As this ad suggests, wearing a pair of glasses makes you look more respectable, even though you make look like a butcher. Put those glasses on and you’ll look like an artist!
As part of a marketing campaign, a Ford Focus was stripped down, taken apart and 31 musical instruments were created from its parts, including a Rear Suspension Spike Fiddle and a Door Harp.
I like this idea. Place a monkey with suction cups on its limbs in hard to reach but easily noticeable places (outside the window of a cafe, for example) to promote an indoor climbing centre. Pretty neat!
