KFC in Canada has introduced a vegan sandwich, probably in order to capture the vegetarian segment of the fast-food consumer market (or it could be because of PETA’s relentless pressure against the company).
Yeah, go ahead and laugh …. a veggie burger at KFC. While I applaud their efforts to catering to the needs of vegans in Canada, I can’t help but be amazed at their lack of concern into what constitutes a vegan meal, ie. the food should never be cooked using cookware meant for cooking meat products. That’s like cooking a ‘halal’ meal using a pot used to cook pork.
Well, that’s exactly what a vegan found out when she rang up KFC in her hometown when she heard that they were introducing a vegan sandwich. Boy, she must have been very disappointed, maybe even angry at KFC, when she was told that
they fry it up in the same fryer as the meat. This was very upsetting and I just wanted to pass this news along as I think it might be something that should be posted since it kind of defeats the whole Vegan thing.
