The battle of desktop AIR applications that support Twitter and Friendfeed updates is really hotting up. Just days ago, Alert Thingy, the application used to alert Friendfeed users of their activities, has added Twitter support. Firing their response salvo, my favourite application, Twhirl, has now added Friendfeed support and improved its user interface.
I’ve just updated Twhirl to version 0.8 and added my Friendfeed account to it. As much as I think Alert Thingy’s cool, I think I’ll stick with the Twhirl camp for now.
Unless Alert Thingy comes with some other add-ons to its application. The battle rages on.
If only Twitter can keep its downtime to a minimum with whoever will replace their chief architect who very recently left the team. Or was he pushed out?
