You don’t have to go far for good food in Singapore, and we’re always in search of a nice place to eat that’s also child-friendly. We found that at Globetrotters, a nice little restaurant on the 2nd floor of United Square.
What we liked most about the restaurant is their play area where the kids can roam about and explore the toys and equipment, like a mini slide, there.
There’s even a cute little milkshake bar where kids can enjoy a nice milkshake, which, unfortunately, our kids weren’t interested in.
Neither were they very interested in the yummy chicken nuggets, fries and veggies that we ordered for them, only taking a few bites before scampering off to play.
Being a weekday afternoon, the restaurant was relatively empty and the kids had the play area all to themselves. It didn’t matter. The kids had fun and we enjoyed our lunch in relative peace. We had the lunch set (about $15.00) consisting of the crayfish pasta for me and grilled fish for her. Included in the set is the standard soup, drinks and ice cream for dessert.
Very affordable and quite tasty (the pasta was a little bland, though), but the portions could have been larger. The only grouse we had was that the service was rather slow. The table behind us had to wait a long time before their bill came, even though they requested for it twice. Not a good thing when the restaurant was nearly empty at that time.
Still, even though the service was a little slow, the servers were very friendly and attentive and always ready to give a friendly hello to the kids and it was on whole, a good lunch experience at Globetrotters. We’d definitely come back one day, although I think the restaurant will be quite crowded during the weekends.
