Lactose-Intolerant Momo

Ayeed’s recent bout of diarrhoea and the diagnosis that he’s suspected of being lactose-intolerant has forced us to find an alternative to his regular Nespray milk. We came up with this:

Ayeed's New Milk

He’s not taking to it too well though. Most of the time, he feels like throwing up at the first gulp and subsequently refuses to drink the rest of the milk in the bottle, so a bit of ‘persuasion’ is needed before he drinks a little more.

I can’t really blame him because one whiff of the milk …. phew!! And I thought the metallic smell of infant milk was bad enough. Soy milk does smell weird. I didn’t have the nerve to taste it. Our next course of action is to give him a mixture of soy and normal milk, which defeats the purpose of giving him soy-based milk to prevent his diarrhoea from recurring, but at $26 per mid-sized can, rather than letting it go to waste, I think this would be best. We’ll see how it goes. So far no sign of diarrhoea yet. Keeping our fingers crossed!
