Oops! I actually forgot to update this rather significant post of Maya being 4 months old. Ah well ….
For her efforts in being such a good girl (most of the time), growing up strong and healthy and all that, she was duly rewarded with a trip to the children’s clinic at the hospital last Friday where she got her immunization.
Unlike the previous time when she was given the jab, this time, when the needle entered her flesh, I was told that her eyes went wide in surprise and then ….. nothing. Barely a whimper. I was preparing her milk and when she came out of the venepuncture room, she was all smiles.
What can Maya do at 4 months? She’s turning backwards and forwards, shuffling on her tummy from one side of the cot to the other (often burying her face at the corner of the cot bumper), and she can lift her chest off the mattress now. It won’t be long until she’s crawling.
Nutrition-wise, there are times when she does seem to want an endless supply of formula (180ml per feed), so we’re thinking of giving her solids soon, just like Ajab and Ayeed who were started on solids at 4 months.
And she can be a noisy baby too. Maya likes to babble a lot and there was this one incident where Ayeed was blocking her view of the TV and she let out an “Ehhh!”. 
She still refuses to fall asleep on her own most nights, preferring to be patted to sleep, just like Ayeed did. We hope she’ll learn to sleep on her own soon. It took Ayeed nearly a year before he finally learnt that skill which is what she needs to learn, hopefully by the time she moves into her own room later this year.
