Visit To The Office at They Might Be Curly Giants!

Ajab spent the morning on Saturday with me in the office. I had to be in the office to do a bit of work and since he was going to be a handful for Trin, who also had Ayeed and Maya to juggle, I figured Booboo could use some time with me. He’d certainly enjoy the ride.

I tried to load YouTube videos of Thomas the Tank Engine on my colleague’s PC which only had 256MB RAM. It took forever and by the 2nd 5-minute video, Ajab was already bored and was looking for something else to do.

He ran around the near-empty office, playing with the magnets on my workstation partition, playing with my stress ball (which I never use, preferring instead my stress roll of tobacco), doodling and practicing becoming customs officer by playing with my ink stamps.

In all, we spent less than 2 hours in my office and although he wasn’t much of a bother, except when he threw my stress ball across the office and it rolled god knows where, I still didn’t complete what I needed to do with him in the office. Had to constantly entertain him, remind him not to run too much and to eat his cookies.

He was hungry and ate quite a bit of his fish and chips at Jack’s Place at Anchorpoint where we had lunch while waiting for my car to be serviced. All that activity tired him out and he fell asleep in the car on the way home. It was a good day in the office, but I think in future I will have to leave him at home if I’m going to get some real work done.
