Breast Is Best, But We Have The Backup

Breastmilk has been well-documented to be the best source of nutrition and sustenance for newborns. A multitude of literature is available in books and on the net on its benefits. No doubt the importance of breastmilk is undeniable, but learning from our experiences with Ayeed, we will leave nothing to chance. As such we have gone ahead and prepared ourselves by buying this:

B3's Formula

We are not breastfeeding advocates by any stretch of the imagination, with Ajab lasting a couple of months and Ayeed a couple of weeks, due to various circumstances that prevented Trin from nursing them longer. The kids are very healthy, and we have no regrets about not trying to nurse them longer on breastmilk.

Some of you may recall the problems Trin had in trying to nurse Ayeed (ultra-cranky baby, blocked ducts and all that) and the stressed-out nature of being a new mummy with nursing problems. And we didn’t have a backup then.

We do now.

I wonder how long B3 will be nursed exclusively on breastmilk. We’re aiming for a month. We’re not ambitious. Trin knows her limits, so we’ll see.
