“You said you’d wait, but you didn’t!! You lied!”
Well, I guess someone got tired of waiting ….
Today we brought the kids for a round of shopping at Ikea. Some of you may recall that Ajab had been banned from Ikea by us for his ultra-crankiness when we last went to Ikea more than a year ago, I think. Today that ban was lifted. He was a lot better behaved today, but still showed flashes of his crankiness. Ayeed was also a good boy and both brothers made themselves at home at the store.
We spent a small fortune on a couple of essential furniture items, like a new bed for Ajab and a chest of drawers to store their perpetually growing collection of clothes.
Even though the boys were relatively well behaved, shopping for furniture, especially if it involves any form of self-service can be a daunting task. But we managed it.
Because most of the purchases were for Ajab’s use, he has agreed to repay his Daddy for the expenses. Unfortunately he forgot the PIN for his ATM card and now I am many dollars poorer! ![]()

The infamous and rather creepy looking spiral staircase at the National Museum. People say that it’s haunted. I think it’s beautiful.

Thank you, Mr Window Washer, who has given us a clearer view of the world outside - not that there’s anything much to admire on this wet and dreary day.

Is it just me or is the weather odd these days? It’s unusually wet for a normally hot and humid July. The rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the shoppers who thronged VivoCity today.

Like a deer caught in the headlights. I have the same look too most days on my way home from work. Zombified!
What? No 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 and 5-3-2 (football team formations lah!)? After awarding me with the Rockin’ Old Geezer Blogger Award, she slapped this meme on me - the 4-4-4-4. Piak! ![]()
Four jobs in my life:

Four countries I’ve been on vacation in:

Four of my favourite food:
- Anything with bread
- Anything with pasta
- Anything with meat
- Anything without plain white rice
Four places I’d rather be now:
- Anywhere but Singapore
- The moon
- Between Nigella’s bosoms
- In bed
Four friends to tag:
Moby does not tag anyone. Haha!!

Thanks to Anne, the Goddess from the North, who asked me about a previous post on my other blog (now long gone), I’m now craving for one!
Thick and dripping with cholesterol-laden juices, this artery-clogging burger is my idea of a gastronomic orgasm.
I have been tagged by Mak Nuha!! She couldn’t bring herself to do this meme originally tagged by Anne from the North, so she’s dumped the meme on me.

Dear Ajab,
Soon the time will come. You will be at the crossroads of your life. Hard decisions will have to be made. It is time that you chose a path in life. Have some direction, a goal to aim for.
Because life isn’t all fun and games.
It’s serious business. There will be times when you have to do things that you don’t want to and you have no choice but to do as you’re told. No crying. No tears. Just get on with the job. Sure, you will have some laughs. You may shed a tear or two when the going gets tough. And when things get rough, we may not always be there for you. You have to fend for yourself sometimes.
That is why we are equipping you with as much wealth as we can gather. Wealth not in monetary terms, but the wealth of knowledge. We have entrusted the distribution of this wealth in the hands of some capable people. Learn from them, and learn well. It will serve you well in the years ahead.
You will be joined by your peers. Learn from them as well. And from each other. Together may you all be good citizens and serve our country and our community with great passion, but tempered with great dignity and respect.
But for now, you may continue to watch Playhouse Disney and play with Momo as much as it pleases you.
Enjoy your time.
While it lasts.
Your daddy,
Daddy.
